· Wednesday, August 6 – Belgian Beer Tasting. We will be tasting Allagash Double and Triple. Allagash is a brewery from Maine that has done an excellent job of creating Belgian-style beers in the New World. Also, we’ll be tasting St. Feuillen Brune and Tripel from Belgium. This is an excellent chance to taste two Belgian-made beers against their American-made counterparts. · SATURDAY, August 9 – Art Attack! The second Saturday of each month, Georgetown businesses host Art Attack. It is a good time to come down and see (and hear!) some excellent art from local artists. We are hosting the work of photographer Dave Neff. His photos are some very amazing high speed action shots. No computer editing or photoshop was involved in the making of these pictures! Wow! · Wednesday, August 13 – Extra Dry Cider Tasting. If you think you’ve had a dry cider, you should hold judgment until you’ve had these. Among others, we will taste the Westcott Bay Extra Dry, Wandering Aengus Extra Dry, and Aspall Dry. · THURSDAY (note the day change) August 21 - Portuguese and Spanish Wine Tasting. All under $10!!!! Along with the very tasty dry Portuguese whites and flavorful Spanish reds, we are hosting a Fundraiser with beautiful handcrafted jewelry for sale by a local jewelry maker. The line is called “Handmade by Alene” and she makes some of the most gorgeous pieces using semi-precious stones and beads, affordable for everyone! All the money you save on wine can go to buy jewelry and support Veronica for the Breast Cancer 3-Day walk!!! · SATURDAY, September 13 - Art Attack! This month, we will be hosting the work of a talented 17 year-old photographer. In addition to a selection of her work on display, she will have cards and prints for sale. · Wednesday, September 24 – Oktoberfest in September. As the trees turn color and our thoughts turn towards autumn, it’s harvest time for the hops and grain. We will be tasting some Oktoberfest styles from Star Brands. Why Oktoberfest in September? The Germans do it, why can’t we? It has something to do with the Julian calendar some time before anybody can remember. Anyway, if it gets us to the good stuff earlier, all the better. Mark your calendars NOW! |
